LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga., July 18, 2023–Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner Denise R. Mitchell has appointed Jeremy M. Collins as chief deputy tax commissioner. Collins has served as the property tax director for the Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner’s Office since 2022. Collins will oversee the day-to-day operations of the office. His responsibilities will include monitoring customer service, overseeing budgets and contracts, and administrating internal controls and audits.
A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, he began working at the GCTC in 2011.
“Collins brings extensive experience to the position from both the property tax and motor vehicle division,” Mitchell said. “I am confident he will continue to serve the citizens well.”
In 2016, Collins served as manager of property tax prior to serving as director of the division. In both roles he was primarily responsible for billing property tax for the county.
Collins worked in management for over 20 years in the private sector in Atlanta before joining the GCTC.
