All Gwinnett County Tax
Commissioner’s offices will open as normal on Tuesday, January 21,
2025. Due to inclement weather, staff availability will be limited
and this may increase wait times. Hours of operation are also subject

New residents moving to Gwinnett from out of state are required to provide a valid Georgia driver's license (DL) or Georgia ID card with the current Gwinnett address before a license plate can be issued.
New residents moving to Gwinnett from another Georgia county must provide one of the following:

A valid Georgia DL or ID with the current Gwinnett address
OR
-
The valid Georgia DL or ID can have the owner's former Georgia address as long as the owner has one of the below documents, dated within one year, with their name and current Gwinnett address:

Utility bill (ex. water, gas, or electric)

Lease/rental agreement
-
Bank statement
-
Closing papers
-
Voter registration card (must show residential address)

Note: Businesses moving to Gwinnett and registering a vehicle must also provide proof. More information on how to complete a change of address.
