Voluntary Registration Cancellation
You may cancel your vehicle registration at any time; however, it is advised that you cancel your registration before you cancel your insurance policy. Ad valorem taxes must be current, and there must not be any outstanding insurance lapse or suspension fees.

Visit the Georgia DOR's Online Service Center; you will need your license plate number or VIN and driver's license number.
The following information is required when cancelling in one of the ways below: a copy of the vehicle owner's valid Georgia driver's license or Georgia ID card and a completed MV-18J form.

Send request and copy of driver's license to Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner, PO Box 829, Lawrenceville, GA 30046-0829.
