Vicky Sutton-Jackson was appointed Communications Director in December of 2022. She previously served as the public relations coordinator for the University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Laboratory. A top producer of news content at the university, her stories attained regional, national and international coverage.
She has over 20 years of experience in public relations and marketing. In addition to working in higher education, her previous experience includes promoting K-12 education, non-profit programs, and census positions for the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her background also includes working in broadcast journalism.
Sutton-Jackson received a bachelor's degree in communications from Mercer University with minors in journalism and broadcasting and film. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the Public Relations Society of America, Georgia Chapter.
She recently served on the SRS Heritage Foundation Board of Directors. The organization oversees the operation of the museum that highlights the history and contributions of the Savannah River Site. Sutton-Jackson has also served on the Inner-City Night Shelter Board of Directors in Savannah, Georgia, where she chaired the communications committee.
She has a passion for promoting and enhancing programs to ensure they make a positive impact on the individuals they serve.
Sutton-Jackson is the proud mother of one son and has two grandsons.
